History. Tradition. Folklore.

Clave Y Cuba is a national 501 c3 nonprofit organization.

Mission

Our mission is to preserve Cuban folkloric music, history, and traditions. Through expert-led workshops, special events, and cultural programs led by musicians with Afro-Cuban ancestral lineage passed down for over 500 years, Clave Y Cuba serves as a bridge, connecting diverse communities with authentic sights and sounds.

About

Rooted in tradition. Driven by community.

Founded by Ivan Moreno in 2021, Clave Y Cuba is dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating Afro-Cuban music, history, and folklore. Born in Havana and deeply connected to Cuba’s heartbeat, Ivan’s lifelong journey as an artist, musician, and cultural bearer inspired him to create a space where ancestral traditions could continue to thrive and be shared with the world.

Through performances, workshops, and community gatherings, Clave Y Cuba brings together artists and audiences to honor ancestral knowledge, uplift cultural ambassadors, and create joyful spaces of learning, connection, and celebration.

Together, we serve as a bridge — connecting people to the sights, sounds, and spirit of Afro-Cuban heritage.

Programs & Experiences

Workshops, talks, and live performances rooted in Afro-Cuban music, community, and cultural preservation.

At Clave Y Cuba, our programs bring people together through rhythm, story, and shared experiences. Whether singing beloved rumba coros, learning about the African roots of Cuban music and spirituality, or gathering for live performances, each experience invites connection and keeps tradition alive.

More than performances, our offerings serve as a bridge—centering cultural ambassadors, preserving ancestral knowledge, and creating space for artists and communities to celebrate, share, and carry forward the rich legacy of Afro-Cuban musical traditions.
