In the Fall of 2021, Clave Y Cuba held a lively Rumba workshop at Madelife, a Boulder creative hub that focuses on mentorship, collaboration, and community.

The day kicked off with a session focused on the heartbeat of Rumba—the Clave. All in attendance sung along, getting expert-led instructions on how to participate in a Rumba chorus. Timing and cadence were a big focus of the workshop held in the spectacular 7000-square-foot work + gallery space, design, and sound studio. Attendees got hands on practice of rhythms such as Guaguanco and Columbia.
