Realismo Mágico— Creative Powerhouse

On the evening of Saturday, February 22nd, Clave Y Cuba’s NYC-based collective took center stage at BAM Fisher, presenting an unforgettable live music performance as part of Realismo Mágico, a captivating multidisciplinary celebration. Curated by renowned artist José Parlá in collaboration with choreographer Claudia Hilda, this one-night-only event was part of the TAKEOVERS series and brought together a diverse array of Cuban artists to explore the intersection of reality, fantasy, and cultural narrative. With a focus on identity, ancestry, and radical love, Realismo Mágico was a surreal and immersive experience that invited the audience to enter a world where the extraordinary blended seamlessly with the everyday.

The collective’s Afro-Cuban rhythms and vibrant energy set the tone, inviting the audience to step into a world where tradition and modernity merged in a stunning display of sound and movement. The live music and interactive dance presentation added an undeniable pulse to the event.

The event unfolded across multiple stages, incorporating contemporary dance, visual arts, and live music. The evening celebration wrapped with a DJ set by photographer Stefan Ruiz and José Parlá, leaving the crowd energized and connected in an unforgettable moment of collective celebration.
