Marisol Blanco: Master Teacher & Dance Innovator

Clave Y Cuba is excited to feature Marisol Blanco, a master teacher and professional dancer with over 24 years of experience. A graduate of Cuba’s prestigious Superior Institute of Arts (ISA) and The National School of Arts (ENA), Marisol is renowned for her expertise in Afro-Cuban Folkloric and Popular Dance, as well as traditional dances from around the world.

Marisol has earned widespread popularity for her Rumba classes and her special Afro-Cuban learning program, “HPS.” This program emphasizes the connection between dance steps, stories, songs, percussion, body expression, philosophy, psychology, and technical knowledge. She creates an environment of support, motivation, creativity, and curiosity, encouraging her students to reach their full potential.

As the owner and director of Sikan AfroCuban Dance Project, Marisol continues to inspire and educate dancers of all levels. She was a former member of Cuba’s first female drumming and dance group, “Obini-Bata,” where she received recognition as a Percussion Specialist/Vocalist at the Master Level from the Cuban National Center of Popular Music.

Marisol has also danced professionally with The Cuban National Folkloric Company and holds certificates in Art Performance Management, Ethnology, Social Anthropology, and Ethno Choreography. She has traveled to several countries as an instructor and performer, staying active in both her dance and teaching careers.
